    All-Star Athletes

    All-Star Athletes is a program that will develop your child’s physical strength, power, speed, agility, endurance, and flexibility. Sessions will provide introduction and practice of dynamic stretching, form running, agility training, and body weight strength conditioning. The six-week sessions will each include skills practice and development in a variety of recreational sports including basketball, soccer, baseball/softball, football, lacrosse, and volleyball. Note: This class is held from 2:45-3:45 PM at Frances Meeks Elementary. Transport is available to FMES students only.

    Gymnastics and Tumbling Session 2

    Session 2 - October 14-December 13, 2024 Classes offered Monday - Friday Gymnastics is a sport that requires balance, strength, flexibility, agility, coordination and endurance. The skills and movements required in gymnastics contribute to the development of all muscle groups. Movement Education gives students an understanding of anatomy combined with effort and spatial awareness. The accomplishments of their goals/skills promotes self confidence in a fun learning environment. Safety is always a top priority when teaching skill progression. Gymnastics classes include instruction on the balance beam, uneven bars, floor, vault and parallel bars. Classes are for boys and girls. Tumbling classes specialize in perfecting floor skills. At least one year of gymnastics classes is required unless approved by instructor. All classes are one hour with the option to take more than once a week. Following registration, Instructor will place each student in appropriate class based on age and ability.

  • Martial Arts

    Unlock your potential with our dynamic Martial Arts program! Designed for ages 6 through teens, our classes offer intense, disciplined training that builds strength, agility, and confidence. Students will master the basics, learn effective self-defense, and develop a strong sense of focus and respect. Join us to push your limits and achieve excellence both on and off the mat! A uniform is included in the cost of the class and must be worn. A Student Success Journal will also be provided. Belt testing is available through the instructor. Please note that no spectators are allowed in the building during class sessions. A two-week notice is required for cancellation.

    Three/Four-Year-Old Program (WATCH ME PLAY) The WATCH ME PLAY program at Playball helps 3 and 4-year-olds develop sports skills through group participation and structured, fun lessons in a supportive environment. Children build confidence, enhance concentration, and improve mobility while learning teamwork, sharing, and following instructions. The program introduces age-appropriate sports skills and promotes visual, auditory, and motor skill development. Four/Five-Year-Old Program (DINKIES) The Playball DINKIES program is tailored for 4 and 5-year-olds and is ideal for those beginning school. Through structured lessons, children practice skills boosting confidence for sports and advancing abilities. This crucial age fosters fundamental development impacting academic, social, and cultural aspects. Our goal is to instill a positive relationship with sports. DINKIES focuses on ball skills, encourages individual participation, and builds confidence to overcome fears. By program completion, children gain significant sports competence. Five/Six-Year-Old Program (Preps) The Playball Preps program for the 5 and 6-year-olds concentrates on refining and advancing fundamental sports skills catering to children who are new to Playball classes. Children practice specialized sports skills with an emphasis on quality execution. They gain competence in various individual sport skills such as shooting a basketball or dribbling a hockey ball. Partner exercises introduce teamwork concepts and leadership roles. The program emphasizes skill refinement, including formalized drills and teamwork, laying the groundwork for competent sport participation.

    Scoops Lacrosse

    Scoops is a Lacrosse class that encourages the appreciation of physical activity and health. Students can develop a passion for playing Lacrosse with a focus on having fun while learning. Students will learn how to run with the ball, throw, catch, score, and more. There are two levels offered for this course though no experience is needed for either age group. Beginner skills will be taught for grades PK-2 and more advanced practice and scrimmages will be included for skill development for grades 3-5. All Lacrosse goals, sticks, and balls are included during class time.

    Tennis

    This is an introduction to tennis class, designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size. It’s the fast, fun way to get kids into tennis and keep them playing. These are year-long classes. Students will need a 21, 23 or 25-inch racket, available from any sporting goods outlet or discount store. If you do not have a racket or do not know what size your child needs, the instructor will provide a sample for your child to try before you make a purchase.

    Volleyball Skills & Drills

    Beginner class is designed to teach beginners the fundamentals of volleyball. We use a lighter ball, smaller court segments and lower nets. The program’s focal point is fun and enjoyment while developing agility, hand and eye coordination, body movement, and ball control work. Team play is incorporated with motor learning and skill development. Reminders: Bring water and proper sports attire (shorts, T-shirt, and comfortable running sneakers with good grip or volleyball shoes). **If you have/plan on buying volleyball shoes, they are STRICTLY meant for indoor court use. Please come in a different pair of shoes (i.e; crocs, slides, flip flops), and once inside, player can change shoes. Please make sure socks are brought or worn. Knee pads are suggested but not required. No transport is available for this class.
