Beginner class is designed to teach beginners the fundamentals of volleyball. We use a lighter ball, smaller court segments and lower nets. The program’s focal point is fun and enjoyment while developing agility, hand and eye coordination, body movement, and ball control work. Team play is incorporated with motor learning and skill development.
Reminders: Bring water and proper sports attire (shorts, T-shirt, and comfortable running sneakers with good grip or volleyball shoes). **If you have/plan on buying volleyball shoes, they are STRICTLY meant for indoor court use. Please come in a different pair of shoes (i.e; crocs, slides, flip flops), and once inside, player can change shoes. Please make sure socks are brought or worn. Knee pads are suggested but not required. No transport is available for this class.
Hi! My name is Audrie Ortiz. I played volleyball for five years. Volleyball brings young people together and is a great team sport. I am an ESS teacher at Frances Meeks Elementary School. I have worked all throughout the school system being an ASP instructor, a paraprofessional, a substitute, and a teacher! I have a son named Nikko and two fur babies named Beau and Mickey. Something I like to do in my free time is travel!
