Fundamentals of Basketball

Community Education 2024-2025

This class is designed to teach kids the fundamentals of basketball. Lessons will focus on shooting form, dribbling skills, and passing. Beginners and experienced students are welcome. Students will have the opportunity to play 5 on 5 against each other. Developing a positive culture that promotes self-confidence and teamwork will be our foundation. Students will be engaged in various drills and games to help improve their basketball fundamentals.

*Note: No transport provided for this class for students not enrolled in MES ASP. Students must be dropped off and picked up by parents.

Fundamentals of Basketball Instructor


Mario Anderson played four years of high school varsity basketball at Sol C. Johnson high school, then lead his team to win the State Championhip in the early 90s. At the collegiate level,  Coach Anderson played at Middle Georgia and Armstrong St. University, and, after college, played overseas in Melbourne, Australia. He has also coached seventh grade boys, high school girls, and division II men’s teams. He is currently on the teaching staff at McAllister Elementary School.
