  • Boater Safety

Learn boater education in a classroom setting from a game warden, AND receive boating safety certification issued by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. All persons born on or after January 1, 1998 that operate any motorized vessel on the waters of the state must have completed an approved boat education course prior to such operation. This course will certify students to operate vessels on state waters as well as teach students important lessons in water safety, navigation and safe operation, required equipment, emergency procedures, and other responsibilities of a boat operator. The class will be offered on a Saturday. Students must attend entire session to be eligible for certification. Students will need a GA DNR Customer ID Number to complete the course. Visit www.gooutdoorsgeorgia.com, or call 1-800-366-2661 to locate your existing Customer ID Number or create a new one. Then register for the course on this site prior to the date of the course. Once students have passed the course, they can print a certificate from this website. For students younger than 16 years old and/or without a driver's license, parents can create an account using the student's Social Security number. The account can be updated when the student obtains a driver's license. Registrants can learn more about the course at https://gadnrle.org/boating-education.

    Discovery Adventure

Get ready for adventure! Campers will travel and enjoy the sights and sounds of Coastal Georgia and South Carolina. Campers will travel on field trips and activities based on a new theme each week. We’ll be exploring nature and enjoy sports and games. There will be outdoor play, movies and time to spend with old and new friends. Students will be transported by school bus for all field trips. Experienced adult instructors will accompany the students on field trips. Parents are kept informed of all activities and field trip locations with a weekly agenda for the camp. It is imperative that parents familiarize themselves with each week’s activities. Because of time constraints, the bus cannot wait for students who arrive late to camp. Students who arrive late for field trips will have to return home with parents. Before and after care are available for Adventure Camp.
